We have three apple trees in our yard:
- One Arkansas Black Apple (an heirloom variety that The Hubs gave me as a birthday present last November),
- a Braeburn (I think—I lost the tag and can’t remember),
- and a Honeycrisp.

The Arkansas Black is too young to produce and the last frost got the mystery tree, but we harvested a trug full of apples off the Honeycrisp this month.
Even the blemished and deformed ones are delicious.
A Honeycrisp apple is true to its name.
There will be no baking recipe for these beauties.
We are eating them all right out of the basket.
