Hello, Home Cooking
I tried two recipes (so far) from this cookbook: Charred Broccoli with Nutrtional Yeast Dressing and Giardiniera Rice. Both are keepers. Especially that dressing!

The Taste of Country Cooking by Edna Lewis (50th Anniversary Edition)
This book is a history, a memoir, and a cookbook full of simple and delicious and homey recipes. It’s worth a read. I’m featuring a whilted salad recipe from the book.

Around the Table by Shea McGee
Here’s a book I thought I would not like. The recipes are mostly amazing. (The tablescape guide, not so much). I am working my way through McGee’s recipes and sharing some thoughts today.

Cake Picnic by Elisa Sunga
I totally went off book with my cake recipe today. I used one of Cake Picnics recipes but totally morphed it, using zuccini instead of apples!

A Feather and a Fork by Crystal Wahpepah
Wahpepah’s book is full of delicious pure food—like her berry sorbet that I tried.

Come Eat by Melissa Ben-Ishay
I would totally recommend this book if you like salads. That was my favorite section. I also made one of the stir-fry recipes from this cookbook.

Ohana Style by Sheldon Simeon
I made two recipes from Ohana and could have made many, many more if my library loan had not run out! This is a keeper of a book!

One Plate at a Time by Demi Lovato
I pulled a chickpea sandwich spread to make from One Plate at a Time by Demi Lovato.

Diaspora Spice Co. Cookbook
I discovered a great cookbook, an excellent spice purveyor, and an interesting and delicious fennel cocktail.

I Sleep in My Kitchen
Daud’s book is full of great recipes, traditional ones and new creations! I made quite a few of her dishes! So good!!!!!
