Top Ten Tuesday: Books that should be adapted into Netflix shows

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday has us thinking about Netflix and what books we think they should adapt next.

1. A remake of Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtrey.  Who would star as Gus?   Matt Damon.  What about Woodrow?  I vote for Ben Aflfeck.

2. The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah  (Actually, I keep hearing there is a movie in the works starring the Fanning sisters.)
3. Garlic & Sapphires:  The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise by Ruth Reichl.  You know I had to sneak at least one Reichl book in this week.  Wouldn’t Julia Louis-Dreyfus be fantastic here?
4. We’re All Damaged by Matthew Norman.  I think this would be hilarious, especially starring Seth Rogen.
5. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein.  Spoiler alert:  This might be the saddest book I’ve ever read.
6. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain.  Yes, please.  And then follow it up with Love and Ruin.
7. Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen.  This would be in the Practical Magic genre of fun mysterious alchemy.  (This might be more conducive to Lifetime or Hallmark though.)
8. The Baker’s Daughter by Sarah McCoy.   The jumping historical narrative might be challenging to pull off but I think this would be good viewing.
9. Georgia:  A Novel of Georgia O’Keeffe by Dawn Tripp.  Honestly, any series chronicling the life of O’Keeffe would have my vote.
10.  The Wangs vs. the World by Jade Chang.   I could honestly really see Netflix pulling this one off in spectacular style.

Thanks for playing along this week!   Next week’s TTT:  questions I would ask my favorite author.  Don’t you know Ruth will be in that list as well?

What books would you like to see Netflix take on?
